Zao Onsen Ski Resort, located in Yamagata Prefecture, is one of the most renowned ski resorts in Japan. Surround by scenic mountains, traditional hot springs, restaurants and souvenir shops, Zao Onsen has something for everyone. In the winter this resort boast some of Japan’s oldest and best slopes. Trees even take on a personality of their own and after often referred to as “snow monster” due to the unique shapes the wind and snow make them take on.
