Wakayama Castle is a hidden gem. It felt like a peaceful, less crowded version of Osaka Castle, but just as beautiful. The wide open grounds and traditional architecture made it an amazing place for photos, and the whole area had a really calm and relaxing vibe.

Wakayama Castle was beautiful with a great display of historical Japanese objects. The castle grounds themselves are also very wide and beautiful making the experience even better!

The base of the castle, at the bottom of the mountain, was some of the most beautiful gardens I’ve seen in Japan. We saw a turtle swimming, and small mountain streams passed right along the paths. The rock paths were super fun to walk on, and I’d definitely recommend it for kids since the paths tend to be long and you can see them when they run a bit ahead. Definitely not wheelchair/crutches accessible though.

The castle overall was a nice exhibit but I think what really sealed the deal was the view we got at the top of the castle, with a nice backdrop of the entire city in front of you, definitely would recommend to others.

Very beautiful castle, with once in a life-time kind of views when you get to the peak of the castle. I recommend coming here when the weather isn't too hot or humid, as that will make the experience a lot more worth while in my opinion.

Wakayama Castle was a great place to visit and offered some beautiful views of the city from the top. I enjoyed exploring the castle grounds and learning a bit about its history. The walk up was worth it, and the surrounding park made it a peaceful place to spend some time.

Wakayama castle is one of the coolest castles I have seen in all of Japan. The place has a lot of greenery and is rich with history! Around the castle garden was really beautiful and the large walls are stunning. You also have a lot of history inside the history with the Tokugawa shogunate. It is a very underrated place I feel like.
