About DROR

My name Is Dror Baltin. I am an English-speaking guide based in Wakayama City, with a strong commitment to introducing international visitors to the history, culture, landscapes, and local communities of Wakayama. I currently work for Travel Life LLC, a Wakayama-based tourism company, where I am involved in developing, promoting, and operating inbound tourism experiences. My work includes designing tour itineraries, researching local history and cultural heritage, creating English-language tourism content, communicating with international travelers, and personally guiding visitors. In particular, I have been developing and conducting the Wakanoura Deep Dive Walking Tour, which introduces visitors to Wakanoura’s more than 1,300 years of history through its ancient shrines, waka poetry, Shinto traditions, historic streets, coastal landscapes, and stories of local life. My approach to guiding is not simply to provide facts. I aim to help visitors understand the meaning behind the places they encounter and to connect historical events, religious traditions, landscapes, and contemporary communities into an engaging story. I am especially interested in introducing lesser-known areas that international travelers might otherwise overlook, while treating local culture and communities with respect. Having completed my Master’s degree at Wakayama University’s Faculty of Tourism, I also bring an academic understanding of tourism and regional issues to my guiding work. My goal is to help international visitors discover Wakayama beyond the conventional tourist routes and, through tourism, contribute to greater appreciation and sustainable revitalization of the city and prefecture.
