Chat, travel, tarot — let's explore Ishikawa Hi, I'm MAKI! For 23 years I've worked as a nail artist, and the part I love just as much as the nails themselves is the conversation. I also run tarot reading sessions and work at a sake bar, so I'm used to meeting all kinds of people — my friends call me a "communication monster" (in the best possible way) and say I'm always up for anything at a moment's notice. Travel is something I could talk about forever. I've been to 45 of Japan's 47 prefectures, and I love doing day-trip hot-spring rounds right here in Ishikawa. My favorite way to travel? Ask a local for a restaurant recommendation, go there, ask someone else, and keep the chain going. I've even pulled tarot cards for strangers I met on the road — those chance encounters are what I live for. I became a Locals host because I want friends all over the world. My dream is to keep traveling forever — Vancouver, Melbourne, Portugal, Denmark, Finland, Iceland are all on the list. Meeting you in Ishikawa might just be the start of that.
