Kiyosumi Teien Garden, while a bit removed from many of Tokyo’s hotspots such as Shinjuku or Shibuya, is one of the most beautiful teien gardens in the city. It has a large pond with a strolling path around it, and the surrounding land is covered in lush greenery. There is also a tea house and several places to sit and rest. Nearby the garden are also a number of artisan coffee shops and mom-and-pop restaurants. The Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine and Museum of Contemporary Art are also within walking distance, so it’s easy to spend a whole day in the area.
