Most people may image the A-Bomb Dome from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Although it is one of the places most Japanese and international tourists visit in its prefecture, it is only one aspect. In spring, this park is covered by pink cherry blossoms and smiles of all people.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is located in the center of Hiroshima city. The park is free and opens 24/7. Besides A-Bomb Dome, there is Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum which exhibits about bombs. Rest House is another bombed building in the park. It was heavily damaged but today the renovated architecture is used as a tourist information office. The park has a decent amount of trees and flowers so it is also recommended as a walking course. The best season is from the middle of March and it continue to for one month. According to the weather report, they start blooming on March 24th 2018 and reaching at their peak on March 31st 2018.

From the middle of March, approximately 400 cherry trees are start blooming. The park is surrounded by two rivers and both banks are lined with cherry trees. Walking is a major way to enjoy but this place has another option; a river cruising. It is about 25 minutes tour and people see both the landscape of Hiroshima and cherry blossoms.
You can enjoy "hanami" here twice a day

Cherry trees light up about between 5pm and 9pm. White and pink flowers are lightened in dark night which is different atmosphere from day-time. In Japan, hanami, cherry blossom viewing in Japanese, is the long custom and it is significant. If you come and visit, you can understand or even feel its importance.

From Tokyo to Hiroshima, it takes about 90 minutes by air. From Hiroshima Airport, take the airport shuttle bus to Hiroshima Bus Center for 51minutes. It is about 10 minutes walk from Bus Center to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.
