About Hirotaka
I run PLANQUE, a community darkroom in Komatsu City, Ishikawa. I am passionate about film photography and enjoy the entire analog process, from developing film to making traditional silver gelatin prints in the darkroom. At PLANQUE, I also offer hands-on workshops where beginners can experience the process for themselves. In a time when digital photography has become part of everyday life, I think there is something special about working with film. Developing a roll you have photographed yourself and watching an image slowly appear on photographic paper in the darkroom is a unique experience that connects photography with craftsmanship. For visitors to Ishikawa, I hope to offer something a little different from ordinary sightseeing: an opportunity to experience the place through photography and create a physical memory of their time in Japan. You do not need any previous experience with film photography or darkroom printing. Beginners are very welcome. I enjoy meeting people from different places, talking about photography, cameras, travel and everyday life, and sharing the pleasure of making photographs by hand. If you are curious about analog photography, I would be happy to welcome you to PLANQUE and introduce you to the world of the darkroom.
