Opened in 1969, Hakone Chokoku no Mori Open Air Museum became Japan’s first outdoor museum. Located in the popular hot spring town of Hakone, the museum features approximately 120 modern sculptures, including by Henry Moore and Rodin. Yet it is the Picasso Pavillon that steals the spotlight.

I have never seen anything like the Hakone Open Air Museum in my life. I visited it in May of 2024. There are many pieces of arts that are here, and outside where you can walk around. The place is stunning and I don’t think there is any place like it in the world. You get the amazement of looking at art while exploring in the outdoor atmosphere.
