If you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s, you will LOVE this place. I didn’t even imagine that this kind of store will ever exist. This store sells variety of old games that you can’t find easily nowadays even on Amazon or Ebay. My guide took me to this place during my Akihabara tour with her. She helped me buy Nintendo Advance and old pokemon and super mario games. I don’t remember the exact price but it was pretty cheap. If you don’t wanna buy anything but still want to bring back some old childhood memories, there are arcade machines that you can play 1 round for 100 yen. Even if you are not a game lover, I recommend you to visit this place because this place will still remind you of childhood.

For all you retro video game enthusiasts out there (yours truly included), Super Potato is a definite must-go. From one of the earliest Nintendo creations, the Nintendo Entertainment System to Game Boy Advance to PlayStation & PlayStation 2 to X-BOX, this place has it all at this hidden (or at least hard-to-find) treasure trove tucked away in one of the alleys of Akihabara. Super Potato occupies 3 floors, with shelves upon shelves of games that have attracted many from afar to come and visit. The top floor (5th), though cramped, was home to a few retro arcade games, including the 1986 Super Mario Bros. (so naturally, I had to go a few rounds) with 1 play costing 100 yen. Nostalgic Japanese snacks and soda were also available for purchase. All in all, a worthwhile visit that will surely send you on a trip back to relive and replay some childhood favorites.
